Visit the historic fishing camp, Stockton Island hiking trails, or the remote Raspberry Island Lighthouse. This includes all the rooms in the lighthouse — featuring many original or antique furnishings. You may climb to the top of the tower for a fantastic view and photo opportunity. In accordance with the ADA, service animals are allowed, however, this does not include emotional support animals or therapy animals.

If we cancel a cruise due to weather, you will have the same options. All tours depart from the city dock right in downtown Bayfield! Parking is available on all streets, with most of them offering free, daily parking. However, Rittenhouse Avenue and Front Street provide 2-hour parking only.
What You See on the Grand Tour
The Apostle Islands Grand Tour takes you on a narrated, informative 55-mile scenic cruise. After purchasing tickets on our regularly-scheduled cruises you have up to 24 hours prior to departure to either transfer your tickets to another cruise or receive a full refund. If we cancel a cruise due to weather you will have the same options. All seating on all cruises is first-come, first-served.
For a half day trip in the Apostle Islands, tip your kayak guide at least ten dollars per person in your group. On a full day trip, tip around fifteen dollars per person in your group. For an overnight sea kayaking trip, tip your guide at least twenty dollars per person, per day or more. On overnight tours keep in mind that your guide is cooking and cleaning for you as well as keeping you safe on the water.
Most safe outfitters will not book young kids on kayak tours, and most of the things to do in the area are either very active or involve drinking. It’s about a mile paddle to the first cliffs, and farther than that to the first caves. Right around the time you reach Keyhole Arch, you’re suddenly more exposed to the northeast and southwest, directions which the wind rises from about 1/2 the time every summer afternoon. It doesn’t take very much wind to kick up 1-2 foot waves, which hit the cliffs, bounce off, and double up. You can take your own boat out onto Lake Superior, or paddle a 16ft.
Seating on all cruises is on first-come, first-served basis. If you have a preference, we recommend arriving 45 minutes to an hour before departure time to be near the front of the line while boarding.
